Bailey Hanks, 20, from Nashville is the winner of Legally Blonde Musical.
Elle had been Hanks' "dream role" since she heard that her favorite flick was being adapted for the stage. When a friend at Coastal Carolina University, where Hanks had briefly studied theater, e-mailed her about the MTV competition, "I almost had a heart attack. I just had to do it." said Hanks.
She beat out nine other contestants to succeed Tony nominee Laura Bell Bundy as Elle Woods in the New York production of Legally Blonde, will make her Broadway debut in the musical based on the film of the same name July 23 at 8 PM. The song “So Much Better” by Hanks will hit iTunes on July 22.
Hanks, a musical theatre student at Coastal Carolina University has previous stage credits e.g. The Wizard of Oz, Seussical the Musical, A Year With Frog and Toad, Annie and Bye Bye Birdie.
